PGA HOPE

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) provides 6 weeks of free instruction to Veterans and Active Duty Military members that helps introduces them to the game of golf or improve on their current skills, and is taught by PGA/LPGA Professionals that are specially trained and certified in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. All programs are funded solely by the generous donations to the PGA REACH Middle Atlantic Foundation and the PGA of America Reach Foundation charities, so the cost of instruction remains free to all Veterans, Reservists, National Guard, and Active Duty Personnel.

PGA HOPE has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which enables VA Doctors and Staff to refer Veterans to the PGA HOPE Program as a form of therapy. Through a robust program strategy, PGA HOPE aspires to create a physically and emotionally healthier Veteran community by shaping lives, changing lives, and possibly saving lives through the game of golf.

Once participants graduate, not only are they better equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to hit the links, but they’re also part of the PGA HOPE Graduate community that offers members-only “PGA HOPE Play Day” tournaments, social gatherings, and discounts at participating courses and retailers.

PGA HOPE is funded solely by the generous donations of individuals and corporations to our PGA REACH Middle Atlantic Foundation and the PGA of America Reach Foundation 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations. While the instruction that the PGA HOPE Program provides is free for all Veterans, Reservists, National Guard, and Active Duty Personnel, there are costs associated with running HOPE instructional Sessions, and that’s where the donations come into play. The Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA of America already has one of the largest PGA HOPE Programs in the Nation, but due to the huge Veteran and Active Duty population in our area, there are many more heroes on our waitlist. While our goal is to continue to expand our Program and reach as many Patriots in as many locations across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region as possible, we can only achieve that with your support.

PGA HOPE Sessions are typically offered in the spring and fall, with exact dates and times varying by Chapter location. Each Chapter has a set number of available spots to ensure participants receive the individualized instruction and support that make PGA HOPE such a meaningful experience.

Registration is available on a first come, first served basis, and Sessions are often very popular and fill quickly. Because each Session consists of six classes, we encourage you to register only if you are able to attend all six classes. If your plans change and you need to cancel your registration, please let us know as soon as possible. This allows us to offer your spot to another registrant who is looking forward to participating and helps ensure as many individuals as possible have the opportunity to experience PGA HOPE.
