Honoring Our Legacy. Investing in Our Future.

One of the greatest strengths of the Middle Atlantic PGA is the willingness of our members to learn from one another. Mentorship provides valuable guidance, encouragement, and meaningful connections at every stage of your career.

Honoring Coach Strausbaugh’s Legacy

Bill "Coach" Strausbaugh

The MAPGA has a proud tradition of mentorship that dates back generations. That legacy is exemplified by Bill “Coach” Strausbaugh, a longtime Middle Atlantic PGA member whose passion for mentoring fellow professionals left a lasting impact on our Association and the game of golf. His commitment to helping others grow continues to inspire the PGA of America’s Bill Strausbaugh Award, presented annually to PGA Professionals who demonstrate exceptional mentoring, leadership, and service to their peers. The MAPGA Mentor Network proudly carries forward Coach’s belief that investing in others is one of the greatest ways to strengthen our profession.

The strongest professional relationships often begin with a simple conversation. We encourage every member and associate to take that first step—whether by asking a question, sharing an experience, or making a new connection. Every conversation has the potential to inspire growth, build confidence, and strengthen our PGA community.

Get Involved

Whether you are looking for a mentor or interested in serving as one, we invite you to complete the Mentor Network Interest Form. The information you provide about your experience, interests, and professional goals will help us make meaningful connections between mentors and mentees across the Middle Atlantic PGA.

Mentorship is not limited to formal one-on-one relationships. We encourage members to share ideas, ask questions, and build relationships that support one another throughout every stage of their careers.

Connect with Fellow Professionals

In addition to mentor matches, the MAPGA Mentor Network will feature networking events, educational sessions, and Mentor Network gatherings where members can connect in person, exchange ideas, and share best practices. Whether through a formal mentoring relationship or a conversation over coffee at a Section event, every connection helps strengthen our profession.

New PGA Associate Dashboard

The new 3.1 Associate Dashboard gives PGA Associates a clear view of their progress through the career path portfolio—helping mentors track milestones and guide next steps together.

New PGA Associate Dashboard preview

Why was a new dashboard created, and how is it different from the old one?
The previous dashboard offered only basic information, like an Associate’s current level and a link to the education portal, which often left Associates seeking additional details from staff or Membership Services. The new dashboard was designed to address these gaps by providing a clear, detailed view of each requirement within a level, direct links to resources, and helpful articles that answer common questions. It also makes it much easier for Associates to track their progress, see what’s needed to advance, and stay on top of required actions and deadlines—all in one place.

Will the new dashboard experience be available to all Associates?
At this time, the new dashboard is only available to Associates in the PGA 3.1 program. There are currently no plans to extend this experience to previous programs.

How can I support Associates I know during this time?
Encourage Associates you know to log in to their PGA account and explore the new dashboard. There’s no required training or videos—they can simply sign in and easily see their current status and next steps. If you’re mentoring an associate, ask them to show you the new experience!

Can I provide feedback and suggestions for improvement?
Absolutely! Please reach out to support@pga.com with any feedback or ideas.
