Slick Rick!! Rick Schuller, PGA makes history again winning his FOURTH (!) Senior Open of Virginia Title at Independence Golf Club! He’s the first person to claim the title four times, and he’s the first PGA professional to go back to back!🏆

He won by one shot over Jimmy Flippen, ...PGA after rounds of 69,72 for a total score of -3.

Today, we salute Wayne Holley, our 35th MAPGA President! From his start in golf as a 12-year-old caddie to achieving Hall of Fame recognition, Wayne's journey exemplifies dedication and service to golf. His impressive career includes 25 years as Head PGA Professional at Roanoke Country Club ...and establishing the Big Lick Golf Learning Center.

Wayne's philosophy stems from his mentor Max Elbin, to whom he attributes all his success: "Any success that I have had and have now, I attribute to three things: Max, Max and Max." From Elbin, he learned to maintain professionalism in all aspects of life and to always do his best. In 1991 Wayne had a vision to develop and maintain a facility, and in 1993 he founded Big Lick Golf Learning Center and Driving Range to make professional instruction accessible to the public—showing his commitment to growing the game.⛳

Wayne's leadership extended beyond his presidency, as he remained an integral Board of Control member and tirelessly improved employment conditions for PGA professionals. His numerous accolades—including MAPGA "Professional of the Year (1993), the Bill Strausbaugh Award (1981), and the Horton Smith Award (1984) —reflect his commitment to excellence in our organization. As we celebrate our Centennial, we honor Wayne's enduring legacy in growing both the game and our Section! #mapga100
