Dominion Energy Charity Classic

This October, PGA Professionals will have two opportunities to help out during the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, the PGA Tour Champions playoff event at The Country Club of Virginia James River Course Oct. 18-22.

The MAPGA is in need of at least 75 Professionals throughout the week.

Fan Zone – Free Lessons

The first opportunity during the week will revolve around the Fan Zone giving free 10 minute lessons to spectators of the event.  There are shifts available throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Oct. 19-22).

The Fan Zone will include hitting nets as well as a simulator.  PGA Professionals are asked to teach spectators as they come through the Fan Zone and be a positive representation of the MAPGA.  Professionals that help out in this regard will be paid $50 per hour.

The Fan Zone Volunteer Positions are now Full.

More information will follow closer to the event (parking, uniform, tickets, etc)

PGA Pace of Play Ambassadors

On Wednesday, Oct. 18 and Thursday, Oct. 19, we are looking for PGA Professionals to volunteer as walking PGA Ambassadors.

Our goal is to have one PGA Professional walk with each Pro-Am group.  The responsibilities of the Professional would include helping with pace of play, being brand ambassadors for the MAPGA, and helping the amateurs throughout the round. Please note, this opportunity does not include playing during the Pro-Am.

Each volunteer will receive four MSR points, one golf shirt and hat, four good any-day grounds tickets, and a unique experience with a PGA Tour Champions player.

Because we are in need of so many volunteers, PGA Professionals may volunteer both days or walk 36 holes in one day (18 in the morning, 18 in the afternoon).
