The Inaugural Denny McCarthy Invitational at Argyle Country Club finished with Aneka Seumanutafa and Lou Baker atop the leaderboard after the second round of play Sunday.
Leading after the first round by five strokes, Seumanutafa extended her lead by shooting 71 on Sunday. She finished the tournament with a two-day total 143 and defeated second place finisher Amanda Levy by 14 strokes.
Seumanutafa had nine birdies during the tournament and led the field with 28 holes of par or better.
In the Boys Overall Division, Baker finished the first round two strokes behind the leader, Michael Brennan. On Sunday, Baker shot a tournament-low 69 to move to first place and defeat second place finisher Will Mullally by two strokes.
Baker tied Brennan with eight birdies and finished atop the leaderboard with 30 holes of par or better.
The round one leader, Brennan, finished T2 with Mullally at 3-over-par.
Denny McCarthy was on-hand to award the tournament’s winners Sunday. A Takoma Park, Md. native, this was McCarthy’s first namesake tournament for junior golfers.
