He started golfing at a young age when he bought his very own clubs with his own money at a garage sale. Since this day, golf has been one of his biggest passions. He utilizes the sport to gain confidence, determination, fairness and honesty. During his years of competing, Lorenzo has had the opportunity to play on some of the most prestigious courses with talented individuals of which he is very grateful for. When he is not playing golf for competition, he enjoys playing with family and friends. Throughout his time with the Middle Atlantic PGA, Lorenzo has set goals and put all of his focus into reaching them. We have seen his hard work and dedication and are eager to see him excel moving forward!
This August our female Junior Golfer is Sydney Dinh! Throughout her first summer of competition golf, Sydney has proven her passion and drive for the game. Her first tournament was this June with the Peggy Kirk Bell. Performing with many young girls her age, she realized that she was less experienced and therefore had skills that could be enhanced. From this, she enrolled in lessons, camps and many tournaments. Watching Sydney compete, she takes the game seriously and puts maximum effort in. She says that this summer has taught her patience, focus and determination to improve upon her game through hard work, repetition and consistency. While competitions have been a huge part of her involvement, golf has also given her the ability to share a sport with her brother. Her younger brother is also starting to compete in golf events and Sydney takes great pride in guiding him. It has been a fun summer getting to watch the two of them help each other along the way. After such a successful summer, we are excited to see how Sydney takes on her next season with the Middle Atlantic PGA!

His father, uncle, and grandfather help guide him both in practices at their home course as well as at our Mini Mulligans tournaments. Throughout the summer Mason has made many new friends who have encouraged and lead him to much success! He uses his values of honesty and hard work to accomplish many recognitions. He competed in the sub-regional Drive, Chip & Putt event at Aronimink Golf Club and placed 3rd overall for the Lancaster Country Club Qualifier! The Middle Atlantic PGA loves seeing Mason’s positivity and passion at each of our events. We are proud of his dedication to the game and can’t wait to see all of the accomplishments that he is soon to achieve!
Sydney Neou is our Junior Golfer of the Month for July! This young lady has been involved in many competitions in her golf career so far. She has been actively participating in the Drive, Chip & Putt competitions, junior tournaments, PGA Jr. League, and many championship tournaments. In addition to her competitive playing, Sydney takes golf lessons to ensure improvement and dedication. The game of golf is not only a sport for enjoyment and activity for Sydney, but it is also a way for her to challenge herself. Golf has taught her how much hard work and passion is needed to evolve, which has transitioned into her school work and education as a student. Sydney has made many new friends, teaching her that the game of golf offers the opportunity to engage with new faces and learn their passions as well. Sydney says that she is looking forward to keeping her involvement in the game for the rest of her life and she will be committing to every shot she takes. She is excited to stay honest and hardworking while learning new skills and values. The Middle Atlantic PGA is thrilled to recognize Sydney this July and we hope to see her same commitment in years to come!

Our female junior golfer that was selected for the month of June is Rachel Lee! Rachel is a new member to the golf community, joining the sport in 2017. In just these past two years, Rachel has had the opportunity to see all of the great opportunities and lessons that golf can give. She has come to appreciate the game greatly because it has taught her to be more courteous, sociable, and passionate. When asked what the game of golf meant to her, she said “the game of golf always teaches me to control my emotions, to stay calm, and to think about my options for solutions.” She uses this valuable lesson when facing any challenges that may come her way. One of her favorite things about golf is getting to learn from all of her peers. Rachel loves the idea of healthy competition and the encouragement to learn from each others strengths. In less than a year, she has learned to reduce 22 strokes, played in the IAAM Championship, achieved the Athlete of the Week on the Baltimore Sun, and received the IAAM Athlete of the Month. The Middle Atlantic PGA is very proud of the growth and development that Rachel Lee has evolved within the sport of golf and in her everyday life. We hope that her optimism and respectful attitude is inspiring to other young athletes as well!
