Jim Estes and Clark Sisson shot a 19-under-89 in 27 holes to win the 2017 Britt Sloan Scramble supported by Busnell and Celtic Golf at Woodmont Country Club Monday.
The pair carded three eagles, 13 birdies, just 11 pars and no bogeys or worse.
“I holed out from 90 yards on our 18th and at least five birdie putts from 10 feet, it was great,” Estes said. “To play with Clark, who I’ve known for 30 years, we were very relaxed.”
Estes and Sisson began the day on the nine-hole second leg of the tournament with a score of 10-under. The nine holes included two eagles, six birdies and just one par. The great start helped them defeat the second place team of Steven Delmar and Jason Robinson by two strokes.
David Freiss and Dirk Schultz led the field with 15 birdies, finishing t-5 on the day.
The Britt Sloan Scramble featured 124 MAPGA Professionals in their first Section tournament of the season. Next week the JaniKing Match Play Championship will begin April 24 at the Golf Club at South River.
