Bird was the word at Lakewood as Hoffman/Krouse and O’Leary/Ott soar under par

Billy Hoffman (PGA)/Tim Krouse (Amateur) and John O’Leary (PGA)/Danny Ott (Amateur) tied for first place at the annual MAPGA Pro-Scratch Championship presented by Tin Cup and Virginia Artisan at Lakewood Country Club in Rockville, Maryland.

The team of Hoffman/Krouse finished their first nine holes with an impressive 7-under par 29. The team made 10 birdies and two bogies on the day the team finished their round at 8-under-par (64).

O’Leary/Ott performed in a similar fashion carding eight birdies, while maintaining a bogey-free round. The team finished 3-under-par on the front and 5-under-par on the back.

Finishing in a close third was Nicholas Keefer (Lakewood Country Club) and amateur Adam Gray. Four teams finished tied for fourth:

In the individual professional rankings, Hoffman (Westwood Country Club) finished first with a 68, 4-under-par. Followed by Steven Delmar, PGA of Columbia CC (69) and John O’Leary, PGA of Trump National Golf Club, D.C. (70).

Rick Schuller, PGA of Stonehenge Golf & Country Club, won the individual professional senior division, also shooting a 68 (4-under-par) followed by Dirk Schultz, PGA of Beaver Creek Country Club, with a 69 (3-under-par).
